Greetings From an Accidental Minor Internet CelebritySome years ago, the thought of having my own website would've seemed silly to me. I was neither a rock star nor a multimillion-dollar beverage company; what use did I have for a website? An e-mail address was plenty sufficient for me.
That is, until I created a geek blog called Exfanding Your Horizons with a friend of mine from work, began contributing reviews and screenshots to GameFAQs, joined the writing staff of a videogame website named GameCola, and started making videos for YouTube. Over the course of a few years, I had well over a million video views, and people from as far away as Ohio knew my name. Ohio. It's a real place. Suddenly, I had fans. Folks from around the world striking up conversations with me about Mega Man, and tuning in regularly to hear my opinions on everything from Star Trek to cream soda. I was a minor Internet celebrity, but more than that, I'd discovered an online community of friends I'd never met. By the end of 2012, I realized I needed a central location—a base of operations, if you will—to which I could direct fans, friends, family, and anyone else interested in my contributions to the advancement of human civilization. Welcome to my not-so-secret lair. Whether you're a potential employer, here by mistake, or a creepy stalker, I'm sure you'll find something of interest. What you see is what you get with me. I've been told that I write the way I talk; both in real life and on (electronic) paper, I'm honest about who I am: introspective, analytical, professional, and a total goofball. Hopefully this website will allow you to get to know the complex person I tell myself I am. Hopefully I'll get to know you, too. |
